glossybox, subscription box, beauty box

Daily Concepts - Your Facial Mini Scrubber
I love the concept of this facial scrubber with the little pocket in the back of it so you really can give your face a good clean and that is is perfect for sensitive skin. I have already tried this out and it didn't feel harsh on my skin at all which I loved and it really does help to lather up my current facial wash more than it would usually.

Bang Beauty - Eyebrow Cream
I was so happy to see another Bang Beauty product in this month's Glossybox as I seem to like the other products of there's that I have tried before. I did think this eyebrow cream was going to be too dark for me at first, but once I had applied it to my brows properly it turned out to be the perfect product for me because even though my hair is blonde, my eyebrows are naturally dark anyway.

Karl Lagerfeld + ModelCo - Lip Liner Rosewood
This is such a gorgeous autumnal colour I actually love it, but to be fair I don't think I have ever used any lip liner at all in the past. I may have to give this one a go though and see what I think of it just because of it's colour haha, whether is will suit me or not is another thing but I can only hope it does!

Grow Gorgeous - Scalp Detox
I so wanted to love this product as it's something I had never heard of before and I did like the smell of it aswell. I went to use it whilst I was in the shower and at first feel of the product it felt more like a face exfoliating wash with the little beads in and I thought these would dissolve once it came into contact with wet's fair to say this didn't happen. It felt like I was rubbing sand into my hair and spent a good 20 minutes rinsing my hair out just to get rid of the little beads, so it's probably fair to say that I won't be using this product again and it will more than likely head straight into the bin.

Wet Ones - Be Fresh Antibacterial Wipes
You can't go wrong with antibacterial wipes now can you?! I have put these ones into the car for my mum to use when she needs to put air in the tyres as hands always getting dirty doing this, plus so many different people tend to use the air machine at the garage so its always best to be safe and use wipes like these afterwards.

BeautyPro - Detoxifying Bubbling Mask with Activated Charcoal
I have seen so many of these bubbling masks popping up over on Instagram just lately, and really wanted to try one as they looked quite fun (that's the big kid in me haha). So I was pleasantly surprised when I open this months box to find one in there, my skin seems to be having a bit of a breakout just lately so I am looking forward to using this and giving my skin a bit of a pamper session.

I think this has got to be one of my favourite Glossybox's so far this year, and is making my decision easily at the moment to stay with them another year instead of trying out a different beauty subscription box.

September Glossybox: Unboxing

Saturday, 22 September 2018

So here is this week's 'late' Monday Moments blog post, to find out why I have renamed it just this once carry on reading and all will be explained! Hope you are enjoying reading these, as much as I am writing them for my blog, the main blog photo for these posts is going to be changing soon aswell, as I am currently experimenting and putting my digital photography course to use.

One || This past month has seen me really get back into reading of a night time instead of scrolling endlessly through my phone, I am already onto my second book and I find it also helps me go to sleep at a decent hour aswell. I managed to get a bundle of books free from someone on a facebook group called Recycle Bay in the area I live, so these have all been added to my pile of books to read aswell. The book that I am currently reading is called "Billy and Me" by Giovanna Fletcher

Two || I finally took the plunge and had my hair cut short, I had quite long hair that was half way down my back but I decided to get it cut right up past my shoulders. I'm so glad I went ahead and done it as it is so much easier to manage now, and doesn't take me that long to do my hair of a morning now.

Three || To All The Boys I've Loved Before - I finally got round to watching this film on Netflix over the weekend and can say I was pretty disappointed in watching it. It wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be and by the end of it it I was pretty bored with it, definitely not a film I will be re watching anytime soon.

Four || It was the final of Celebrity Big Brother this week, and I am so glad that Ryan won it, he deserved it so much after what Roxanne accused him of. Before it started I actually predicted the order in which the final 6 would walk out the house.....and I think I need Sally Morgan's job as a physic because I guessed them all correctly haha. The Civilian Big Brother starts on Friday, and I am really hoping it will be as good as the celebrity one was so that I don't get bored of watching it.

Five || Finally I unfortunately caught the cold that was going around, I had one day where I felt like total crap and didn't even leave the house! I had so many hopes for the past week for my blog and getting all the blog posts scheduled for this month, but feeling ill totally caught me off guard and I lost all motivation where I just wanted to sleep, hence me renaming this post to a "not so" Monday moments instead of the usual "Monday Moments"

Some of you will agree that you can never put a price tag on style, but no matter how much this statement rings true among the ranks of devoted fashionistas, money does make the world go round. It also makes its temporary visitors (aka us) dress well while we’re hitching this celestial ride, so we might as well do our best to stay true to our preferences without breaking the bank.

It doesn’t matter if you’re new to the world of style or you just need to hinder your own seemingly endless desire to shop ‘til you drop, the listed tips are every girl’s best friend when the time comes to peruse those latest collections. So, ladies, brace yourselves and arm yourselves with these guidelines for your next shopping craze!

Update With Accessories

A little can go a long way with outfitting for your next gala or a fancy dinner party, so even though you may feel tired of your little black dress, you can instantly bring it to life with the right add-on. Of course, you’ll say you’d love a new pair of heels to go with that dusty old dress because that will definitely make a complete transformation, right?

However, when you cannot afford a slew of new dresses, you most likely cannot get your hands on the latest pair of Jimmy Choo’s. Look around the accessory department, or more specifically, the necklaces, bracelets, arm decorations, hair wearables and rings to expand your existing collection. Give that new layered necklace trend a go; you’d be surprised just how much a single item can spruce up a worn-out piece of clothing.

Repurpose and reuse

How long has it been since you last put on that old, baggy hoodie of yours? Well, with the hype around athleisure recently, chances are that you still love it, but you can also turn it into an edgy piece of sportswear with a bit of scissor work and some imagination. Who says you cannot have a hooded crop top with a bit of distressed fabric around the waist? You’ll definitely create a match made in fashion heaven if you pair it with high-waisted leggings and sneakers.

Every other piece you own that you haven’t worn in a while can find its new purpose in the same way. Turn your jeans into shorts, your sweaters into mittens and scarves, your tees into a bandana, or your pants into a purse!

Mind the sales

What you shop sure matters, but it’s equally crucial to time your purchase right, and most importantly, monitor the changes in your favorite stores. You’ll often have to be very patient and wait to buy that stunning maxi skirt when the season is about to meet its end, but it will be worth your while since you’ll likely find its price slashed in half.

Even those stylish swimsuits can come at a hefty price, so keep an eye on your favorite swimwear sale to score the best items at the lowest prices. You can expect bikinis and one-piece swimsuits with beautiful designs that will surely live on for several seasons in the future, so it will be worth the wait. The same goes for your extravagant suits and your classy ankle boots – just wait for the season to blow over, and greet the prices as they plummet.

Shop thrifty

If you’ve never entered a thrift store, you’re bound to fall in love with the sheer variety and authentic designs you can find in these incredible shop spots. Stores that sell unique, hand-made items, second-hand stores, and little designer boutiques are all just waiting for your skilled fashionista eye to discover the next hit of the season.

For those of you who are new to the concept, it may take some time before you locate the stores that hold the type of items you’ll love, but the search will surely pay off, not just in terms of your budget, but also your sense of style. You’ll have a chance to wear some truly unique pieces with history and character, and perfect your own dressing approach in the process!

How 'bout a trade-off?

With the help of the online world and some friendly fashionistas in your own networking circle, you can soon become the master of clothes swaps and sales of your own. The world is literally brimming with opportunities to find someone else’s hand-made t-shirt with your favorite quote, and you can exchange it for something you have no use for any longer.
