December Glossybox: Unboxing

in , , by Claire Joanne, December 29, 2018

December Glossybox

I’m a bit late this month with my December Glossybox unboxing, it’s been a busy month and I just have had no time to sit down and write this out until now.

I have officially done one whole year with Glossybox, which means there has also been 12 unboxing blog posts aswell. Some boxes have been really good, whereas some have just been okay boxes. I am undecided at the moment whether to do another year with Glossybox or move over and try a different monthly subscription box? What do you think?

Monday Moments #11

in , , by Claire Joanne, December 17, 2018

Hiya I hope everyone is having a lovely December so far, and is looking forward to the rest of the Christmas period. Things have been a bit quite over on my blog just lately, due to my sisters dog going missing and everyone is out searching both day and night so there hasn’t been much time to sit down a write a blog post out.

Niederegger Marzipan - The perfect Christmas Gift

in , by Claire Joanne, November 26, 2018

If like me you are a lover of both chocolate and marzipan (more marzipan for me than chocolate), than this is definitely the hamper for you. It would also make the perfect Christmas present for someone aswell.

November Glossybox: Unboxing

Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick - Girlfriend
This is a gorgeous colour and I would be a big fan of it if it wasn't matte....in this cold weather I tend to get really dry lips so anything matte wise just doesn't do it for me at all. I did pass this over to my sister to try but she also wasn't a fan of the matte look it gave either. The RRP for this is £18 so this in itself has already paid for the Glossybox subscription on it's own and a bit more on top.

Monday Moments #10

in , , by Claire Joanne, November 05, 2018

One || It's been about a week now since I changed the name of my blog, and I can honestly say it was definitely the right thing to do! I feel more confident in what my blog means to me now, without the weight of feeling like the post's I do have to reflect on what it was called before. So hopefully I can get back to enjoying blogging instead of feeling like its some kind of chore that needs to be done. I'm also hoping I can try and gain some more experience in working with some brands, I have done before but haven't for a little while now, so I have sent out some emails and will hopefully hear back even if it is just a no.

Fitbit Stats #4

in , , by Claire Joanne, November 03, 2018

Week 4 of my Fitbit Versa stats, I am really enjoying doing these type of blog posts as it's definitely making me want to get up and move more during the day just so I can beat my previous week's stats.

I am only going to be counting the statistics starting on a Monday and finishing on a Friday to start with just to see how I get on with these blog posts, and if I manage to keep up with them then I may add in Saturday and Sunday at some point.

Baking: Banana Bread

in , , by Claire Joanne, November 01, 2018
baking, banana, bread

If there's one thing I love to do more than anything and that is to bake, it's usually cakes and cupcakes that I bake but then there are other times when I like to challenge myself a little bit and try a recipe out that I haven't tried before.

Changing & Rebranding My Blog

in , by Claire Joanne, October 27, 2018
claire joanne

If you have been a reader of my blog for some time now, you will have noticed that it is no longer called "Nail-Beauty-Life", back when I started this blog I was doing quite a lot of blog posts that were nail related and this was due to me qualifying as a Nail Technician and doing sets of nails on a daily basis for people.

October Glossybox: Unboxing

in , , by Claire Joanne, October 24, 2018

This month's Glossybox was all about everything Halloween, and they had 2 boxes available to send out when dispatch day arrived. There was a "Treat" box aswell as a "Trick" box, I was secretly hoping that I got the Treat box and luckily that is the one that arrived at my door a few days after I got the dispatch email.

Natural Skincare and Haircare 101

in , , by Claire Joanne, October 11, 2018

As we get older, we realize that taking good care of our bodies is essential if we want to prolong our youthful and healthy appearance. It's true that beauty comes from within, but taking extra care of our face is more than welcome. In order to achieve that, we have to change our diet and quit bad habits, and also stick to some natural skincare products. Listed below is a roundup of some very useful au naturel products you might want to include in your beauty regime.
Instagram

This year has possibly seen Instagram really up it's game when it comes social media, myself personally have loved watching Instagram stories and catching up on what everyone has been getting up to behind the photo's, although I do share some bits on Instagram stories, I certainly don't make enough use of it like others do.

My Four October Goals

in , , by Claire Joanne, October 01, 2018
october, goals

I'm going to start the month of October with a couple of monthly goals that I would like to achieve by the end of this month, and at the beginning of November I will be able to look back and see if I managed to achieve them or not. So I thought if I put them in a blog post for the world to see, then I have got to at least give myself a good go and completing them right?!

September Glossybox: Unboxing

Daily Concepts - Your Facial Mini Scrubber
I love the concept of this facial scrubber with the little pocket in the back of it so you really can give your face a good clean and that it is perfect for sensitive skin. I have already tried this out and it didn't feel harsh on my skin at all which I loved and it really does help to lather up my current facial wash more than it would usually.

Some of you will agree that you can never put a price tag on style, but no matter how much this statement rings true among the ranks of devoted fashionistas, money does make the world go round. It also makes its temporary visitors (aka us) dress well while we’re hitching this celestial ride, so we might as well do our best to stay true to our preferences without breaking the bank.

Possibly The Best Nail Colour Duo?

in , by Claire Joanne, August 30, 2018
tanya burr, tanya, burr, cosmetics, nails, varnish, polish
It's been so long since I sat down and gave my nails a bit of a pamper session, usually, I will sit down and get all the stuff out to do acrylics on my nails....being a qualified nail technician an all! But this time I chose to use Stiletto nails by the brand Elegant Touch, I paid £11 for a pack of 216 nails, which I think is a good price as I will get quite a lot of use out of these over the next couple of months.

August Glossybox: Unboxing

in , , by Claire Joanne, August 28, 2018

I heard so many good things about this box this month, and also some pretty negative reviews on it, but I decided to wait until I had received the August box before making any judgment on it at all. I received my box quite late this month for some reason, it was practically sat at the Croydon Mail Center for a good 3 days before they decided to even deliver it haha.

Monday Moments #9

in , , by Claire Joanne, August 20, 2018

Here's another Monday Moments blog post, I'm really enjoying doing them in this form of post, they seem much neater and well laid out compared to how they used to be. Hope you find these interesting to read as much as I enjoy writing them, I have so much planned for this blog and can't wait to see where it all goes :-)

Fitbit Stats #3

in , , by Claire Joanne, August 18, 2018

Week 3 of my Fitbit Versa stats, I am really enjoying doing these type of blog posts as it's definitely making me want to get up and move more during the day just so I can beat my previous week's stats.

I am only going to be counting the statistics starting on a Monday and finishing on a Friday to start with just to see how I get on with these blog posts, and if I manage to keep up with them then I may add in Saturday and Sunday at some point.

Lacura Exfoliating Mud Mask

in , , by Claire Joanne, August 13, 2018
lacura, aldi, mudmask, exfoliating

I've been looking for a new face mask for a little while now but just couldn't decide which one I wanted to try, that was until I saw this particular one which kept appearing on people's Instagram stories, the Exfoliating MudMask by the brand Lacura.

So after finding out it was from Aldi, I headed down to my local Aldi store in search for it and luckily they still had a few left....usually Aldi sell out really quickly when it comes to these kinds of products.

Instagram Influencers Lastest Obsessions

It’s no secret that trends change year in and year out; some stick around to tell a tad longer tale, but most of them fizzle out once the new trends hit the runway. Of course, trends are here for a reason – to be enjoyed and flaunted for a certain period of time, and then benched until they come back in style because if fashion’s history has taught us anything, it’s that everything comes back eventually. Who would have guessed that rocking a fanny pack would be a thing again, but yet it is. So, as per usual, who do we turn to when it comes to the latest ‘it’ trends – aside from supermodels? Fashion bloggers and influencers of course, so let’s dig in and find a few new obsessions of our own.

A Week Of Fitbit Versa Stats #2

in , , by Claire Joanne, August 04, 2018
fitbit versa, fitbit, health, exercise, statistics

Week 2 of my Fitbit versa stats, I couldn't publish this last week as I literally couldn't walk at all without being in pain due to the muscles in my back seizing up on one side. Hence the reason I am doing these every 2 weeks now just so there is still a bit of variety on my blog with different posts.

What Social Anxiety Really Feels Like!

in , , , by Claire Joanne, August 01, 2018

I've been debating about this type of blog post for quite a few month's now, but wasn't too sure how to write it or how it would come across to other people, so I'm just going to go with it and see how it turns out.

I've had what they call Social Anxiety since I was about 3......
I'm 32 now........

Monday Moments #8

in , , by Claire Joanne, July 30, 2018
monday moments, weekly

Well hello there this is bit of a different style to my previous "Monday Moments" blog posts ain't it? I was starting to find my old style of these post's were getting a bit predictable with the thing's I had been loving. So I've decided to make these posts into five things that I have done in the past week, let me know if you prefer them this way, as I always like to get feedback on my blog.

A Week Of Fitbit Versa Stats #1

in , , by Claire Joanne, July 21, 2018
fitbit, fitbit versa, versa, fitness,

I have been thinking about doing a blog series with all my Fitbit stats since I purchased the new Fitbit Versa a couple of months ago, as I wasn't sure that my phone was picking up on my step count throughout the day and I wanted to try and be a bit more active.

I am only going to be counting the statistics starting on a Monday and finishing on a Friday to start with just to see how I get on with these blog posts, and if I manage to keep up with them then I may add in Saturday and Sunday at some point.

5 Beauty Favourites

Ciate Fierce Flicks Eyeliner || I haven't actually used this as of yet, but I know I will do soon and it looked nice in with this flat lay image haha. I've never actually used eyeliner before as my eyes get really itchy and I would end up looking like a bloody panda in this heat (just the thought of that made me giggle!).

July Glossybox: Unboxing

July Glossybox

I always look forward to seeing what is in my glossybox every month, some of them I love and some of them I ain't that keen on, This month's box is a "under the sea" themed box and I think my favourite thing about it this month is the actual box itself......not the actual contents, I'm just not a fan of the products this month at all.

My Netflix Binge

in , by Claire Joanne, July 02, 2018
netflix, movies, tv series

I have really got back into loving Netflix again these past few weeks, so I thought I would let you know what exactly I have been loving and watching just lately. Some of these are old favourites of mine, and some are ones that I have just recently found.

It's certainly been a while since I done any kind of post regarding what nail varnish I have been wearing and loving for the past week, so I thought one was well over due and needed to be done. Infact I have just checked and the last nail related post I done was back in January!

June Glossybox: Unboxing

June Glossybox
June Glossybox

Another month which can only mean another Glossybox unboxing blog post, I love doing these kinds of posts instead of full on reviews of them at the moment just because if I waited until I had tried every product, then these blog posts would be about 2 months behind and out of date haha.

Monday Moments #7

in , , by Claire Joanne, June 04, 2018

It's certainly been a while since I done one of these blog posts, infact I can't remember when the last time actually was. I usually have 5 categories to this, but there isn't really been many blogs I have had the chance to read this past month so I have chosen to leave that category out for this one.

Australia Fashion Week Trends

in , , by Claire Joanne, June 01, 2018

When a country is cut off geographically, it makes it difficult for it's fashion capital to make a connection and an overall impact on the fashion industry as a whole. Hopefully, the incredibly inspired and out of the box collections presented by both prominent and up and coming Australian designers will help change that. of course, a fashion week wouldn't be complete without prominent faces from the industry, as well as fashionistas posing for the streetstyle section, so in order to give you a full and comprehensive insight into Australia trends, we are covering all the bases and providing looks that were spotted on the runways and the streets of Sydney, too.

Night Time Skincare Routine

in , , by Claire Joanne, May 21, 2018
nivea micellar water, simple facial wash, epiduo
I'm not sure if I've ever done one of these blog posts, but I have been doing the same skincare routine for near enough the past 4 months now and have noticed such a big change in my skin that I thought I would share it with you in this post, as I myself love reading these type of posts when it involves products that everyone can afford!

Maria Nila - True Soft Shampoo & Conditioner
I have been looking for a new shampoo and conditioner to try for a while now so I was really excited to see these products in this month's Glossybox. They both smell really nice and leave my hair feeling really soft, and since dyeing my hair a silver colour last week I'm really trying to take better care of my hair and keep it looking nice.

The Blogger Tag || Get To Know Me

in , by Claire Joanne, April 26, 2018
I've been looking around online for some "get to know me blogger questions" for a while now, and recently come across a few that I liked the sound of, so thought I would use some of the questions from them for my blog, so any new readers can get to know me a little bit better.

Somethings Got To Change....

in , by Claire Joanne, April 16, 2018
blogging, ideas, pinterest, cactus, stationery
Just lately I have really fallen out of love with blogging, this is mainly down to the fact I don't feel my blogs name is a bit of me anymore, I mean I still love everything to do with what the name relates to but it's just not me anymore....so somethings got to change!

Millennial Pink vs Revolutionary Red

in , , by Claire Joanne, March 29, 2018
source/source

In the world of fashion, this season we’re witnessing a true clash of the titans. Red has always been a symbol of power and even rebellion. It has been featured in numerous collections, from those presented by Dolce and Gabbana to Jil Sander. Of course, in the wake of a very strange political climate, it’s no wonder the color has taken over. After all, it has always been a sign of rebellion, but it seems that right now, that ‘purpose’ is stronger than ever. It is obvious in the attire choices of Hillary Clinton, and perhaps even more obvious in the TV adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel,

Staying Kind To Your Skin

in , , by Claire Joanne, March 26, 2018
Nivea, Micellar, Water, Skincare

I have always been one of those people who love to try new products, but then also end up worrying about how said product is going to effect my skin. My skin is so sensitive to anything new that it can go one of two ways, one being that it drastically improves my skin or two it can make me breakout really bad! So when it comes to micellar waters to cleanse the face, I have been really funny about which ones to try and at this moment in time I have only tried two different ones which are ones by Garnier and also Nivea.

March Glossybox: Unboxing

in , , by Claire Joanne, March 18, 2018
MudMasky - Sleep Repair Renewal Nourishing Mask
I love the sound of this mask and can't wait to give it a try in a few months time, as at the moment I am currently on a night time cream for my face from my doctor and I am on that for the next three months. So once I have used that I am definitely going to be giving this one a try.

Every year, we are flooded by the imagination of some of the brightest fashion minds, and the previous seasons were no exception – from Alexander Wang’s formidable February finale clad in asymmetrical minimalism, all the way to shining authenticity represented by Michael Kors, we have yet to see the novelty taking charge in the streets.

Monthly Favourites

in , by Claire Joanne, March 01, 2018
Dove, Skin Chemists, Mineral Makeover, Sport Fx, Mitchum

This month has been a bit of a weird one when it comes to my monthly favourite, due to the fact I ain't been able to use much on my skin because of the medication that I am now on for the next 3 months. So the few products I have been using I have decided to share with you in my monthly favourites for February.

February Glossybox: Unboxing

in , , by Claire Joanne, February 18, 2018
glossybox, beautybox, subscription box,
Let's just start this blog post with how nice is the packaging for this months Glossybox, I love it! Usually I tend to keep these boxes to use as storage instead of just throwing them away, this one though I think is going to make it into the box I have for photo props, and it's too pretty just to store away out of sight never to be seen again.

So let's start by seeing what is in the February glossybox this month

Dealing With Acne As An Adult...

in , , , by Claire Joanne, February 10, 2018
Epiduo, Lymecycline

For as long as I can remember I have always suffered with some form of acne, some days it would be that bad my face would hurt to even touch, but on other days I wouldn’t even notice it where my skin wasn’t that bad at all. I tried everything going to “get rid of spots” and read up on all different home remedies that were supposedly meant to get rid of them overnight, but still nothing.

A Fashion savvy gal is not, contrary to popular belief, the gal who has to wear something different everyday. It's the gal who sees a plain dress and can immediately think of at least a few ways to style it. This is why the little black dress is staple that dates back all the way to 1920s and Coco Chanel, and why it gave us a lot of iconic moments thought history, like Audrey Hepburn's Givenchy dress in Breakfast at Tiffany's. If you want to be a fashion diva, you've got to know how to work your garments and be versatile, and there's no better item that allows for that sort of practicality than the LBD. Interested in how to make a single dress work for you on multiple occasions? Let us show you.

In February I Want To...

Monthly Goals

Like last month, I have set myself some goals again for the month of February. I am really happy with the way my blog is going at the moment and I hope as a reader of this blog, you continue to enjoy the posts that I do :-)

In February I Want To...

January Empties

in , by Claire Joanne, January 30, 2018
empties, zoella, garnier, snow bubbly, skin therapy, wilkinsons, neutrogena

Every year I tell myself "no more beauty/skincare products Claire until you've used up what you already have", and 2018 is the year that I am determined to stick to. So throughout each month everything I have used up I'm setting aside in a little basket so I can do one of these posts each month.

Essie Gel Nails

in , by Claire Joanne, January 22, 2018
Essie Gel Nails
It's been so long since I last done a nail blog post, like a proper nail post showing you what I have been wearing on my nails just lately. It's definitely something I want to do more of this year on my blog as I have such a love of everything to do with nails being a Nail Technician and all...

Some Body Teatox Day & Night*

in , by Claire Joanne, January 19, 2018
Some Body TeaTox Day & Night
I was recently sent the Somebody Teatox 28 Day Detox & Cleanse from Superdrug to try out, as after the Christmas/New Year period everyone no doubt will want to try to eat more healthy, and with this you can do a Detox and Cleanse all in the same day just by simply having a cuppa tea with these teabags.

January Glossybox: Unboxing

in , , by Claire Joanne, January 11, 2018
Glossybox UK

The start of a brand new year, means the start of another year of monthly beauty boxes from Glossybox, and with this months box they are putting self-care at the top of all of our priority lists and lets face it after the Christmas period its something we all need! I myself am really pleased with this month's Glossybox and was rather happy with the products that I received even though I am unable to try the "Beauty Beneath - Food Supplement Capsules", but that is just because of the medication I'm currently on so I have given these to someone else to try.
